Novelis thanks our employees, customers, communities and partners around the world for being part of our business each and every day. While the world is diverse, this video reminds us that our shared values of hope, family and giving back bring us together every holiday season.
The shine of a sealed aluminum can flashed by the watchful eyes of more than 70 high school students on June 8, as it fell on to an inclined plane, failing to leak or explode and therefore passing a standard Drop Test. The test was just one of several demonstrations presented by Novelis employees that day to the students, who were attendees of the Exploring Engineering Academy (EEA) and on a tour of Novelis’ Global Research & Technology Center (NGRTC). Hosted by the Atlanta Area Council Boy Scouts of America with Novelis as the presenting sponsor, the weeklong program gives […]
This month marks the four-year anniversary of our Novelis Global Research and Technology Center (NGRTC), a facility dedicated to aluminum innovation and customer service. Since its opening in 2012, the state-of-the-art facility has grown its employee base from 24 to nearly 150. Originally a warehouse and distribution center located in Kennesaw, Georgia, Novelis leased the facility and transformed it into a state-of-the-art aluminum innovation laboratory with capabilities only found within its four walls – including a fully functioning beverage can pilot line and an Automotive Pre-Treatment Pilot Line (APPL), which we use to test new alloys and pre-treatments for our Automotive […]
Since 2012, Novelis has been an international partner of FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), in support of developing future talent for STEM careers. And from April 27-30, five Novelis-sponsored teams – one from Switzerland, three from the U.S. and one from Brazil – competed in the FIRST Global Championship in St. Louis. FIRST is dedicated to inspiring students interested in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) through robotics – a subject very important to Novelis. By supporting FIRST engineering competitions, mentoring students, donating aluminum and providing financial assistance to more than 15 robotics teams across our regions, Novelis […]
Earlier this month, the automotive industry turned its attention to Switzerland, where the annual Geneva International Motor Show was held. At the show – the largest of its kind in Europe – many of our customers revealed new vehicles and concept cars. And, much to our delight, a number of them feature Novelis automotive aluminum. Specifically, Maserati grabbed headlines with the debut of its first sport utility vehicle (SUV). “Our aluminum is critical to the success of many new vehicles being launched in Europe and around the globe,” noted Pierre Labat, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Global Automotive for Novelis. […]

Aluminum has been used in construction for roughly a century, but was ushered into the modern age of building when it was extensively used to construct the Empire State Building in New York City. Now, Novelis aluminum panels and pre-painted aluminum products – such as our new Coloris™ product in Asia – provide architects with a material that can turn buildings into works of art. Here are some recent highlights of Novelis aluminum being used to make structures standout. Zhuhai Yanlord Riverside Centre – China The Zhuhai Yanlord Riverside Centre in Zhuhai, China, will consist of five skyscrapers, whose facades […]
Youngjin Steel is featuring Novelis aluminum sandwich panels at its plant and a showroom in Dangjin, South Chungcheong Province, Korea. The Dangjin Plant chose aluminum sandwich panels for roofing and walls. Aluminum shingles used on the roof reduce the weight of the roofing materials on the substructure compared to steel shingles and thus deliver cost savings in the facility’s construction. The plant also used aluminum sandwich panels for the main wall cladding and juxtaposed the sandwich panels with color steel panels to create a visual contrast between the two materials. Youngjin Steel took advantage of the aluminum sandwich panels’ light […]
