Senior Vice President and President, Novelis North America, and Chief Integration Officer
Marco Palmieri is Senior Vice President and President, Novelis North America, where he leads all aspects of the company’s business in the region. In 2019, Palmieri was also appointed to the role of Chief Integration Officer, where he has overall accountability for all aspects of integration planning and execution for the company’s proposed acquisition of Aleris.
Palmieri joined Novelis in August 2011 as Senior Vice President and President, Novelis South America. Prior to Novelis, Palmieri was Aluminium Business Director for Votorantim Metais Ltda., the entity holding the aluminum, nickel and zinc operations of the Votorantim Group, a large industrial conglomerate based in São Paulo, Brazil. An aluminum industry veteran, Palmieri also spent more than 25 years with Rio Tinto Alcan in a series of international leadership positions in various areas including business development, primary metal and energy production.
Palmieri holds a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering from the School of Mines in Ouro Preto, Brazil, and a master’s degree in management from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He currently serves on the board of directors and the executive committee of the Aluminum Association in North America.
