Senior Vice President and Chief Manufacturing Officer Novelis Inc.
Tadeu Nardocci is Senior Vice President and Chief Manufacturing Officer, Novelis Inc. Appointed in 2019, Nardocci is responsible for instituting global manufacturing standards and practices in the areas of safety, World Class Manufacturing (WCM), sustainability, quality, recovery, asset optimization and process. He also leads the operations and technical talent pipeline development agenda across Novelis.
Previously serving as Senior Vice President and President, Novelis South America, since May 2013, Nardocci led all aspects of the company’s business in the region, including the expansion of aluminum rolling and recycling operations at its plant in Pindamonhangaba, Brazil, to serve the fast-growing beverage can market.
During his tenure at Novelis, Nardocci also served as Senior Vice President and President, Novelis Europe, from 2009 to 2013, where he led the revitalization of the company’s business in the region, including increasing its focus on the automotive market and on closed-loop recycling agreements with automotive customers. Prior to that, Nardocci served as Senior Vice President of Innovation, Technology and Strategy for Novelis Inc. In this role, he was responsible for driving the innovation agenda for both products and processes throughout the company. Before that, he served as President, Novelis South America, where he led all aspects of the company’s business in this region.
Prior to the formation of Novelis, Nardocci had been with Alcan, where he began his career as a rolling process engineer in the Utinga, Brazil, plant. He progressed through the organization, holding several manufacturing and operations positions before being named to the position of Managing Director for Alcan’s Southeast Asian business, based in Kuala Lumpur. In this position, Nardocci was responsible for the company’s rolling and extrusion business in Malaysia and Thailand. In July 2002, he was appointed President of Alcan Brazil Rolled Products, which eventually became part of Novelis in the company’s spin-off from Alcan in 2005.
Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Nardocci graduated from University of São Paulo with a degree in metallurgy. He also attended post-graduation courses in business administration in Brazil and the United States, among other formal education programs.
