Contrary to conventional aluminum panels produced by spray-coating finished articles, Novelis weather-resistant coated aluminum is produced from sheet that is cleaned, treated and roll-coated in a continuous process. This standardized and efficient operation ensures consistency, yielding unequaled quality and color uniformity, especially when compared with post-painted panels.
Coloris uses exceptional PVdF (polyvinylidene fluoride) paints with ceramic inorganic pigments, so they have unmatched resistance to weather and corrosion. Homogenous application of these paints enable various colors and textures for truly original designs and expressive aluminum architecture:

These panels are fire resistant and rated non-combustible. Our roll-coating technique also ensures a consistent thickness in the coat, as required by international fire-resistance building codes.
Novelis’ environmentally responsible roll-coating process for pre-painted aluminum consumes less paint. For the paints that are part of the operation, non-hazardous pigments are always used. These paints, as well as lubricants, are processed in a closed material cycle. Our pre-painted aluminum is also ground water neutral, not susceptible to heavy-metal erosion and can be recycled as a raw material without any loss in quality.
