Weather-Resistant Painted Aluminum
SuperWindy is weather-resistant painted aluminum with a modified, highly durable polyamide pre-coat.
This is popular for exterior cladding and window-frame applications. In addition, excellent formability and color-fast coatings make it easy to work with and give it a long life with an appearance that does not fade over time.
Formable Without Fading
High elasticity and very good bending behavior have been combined with a paint system that creates a powerful barrier to protect colors, extending their vibrancy and longevity. This formability also helps prevent cracks during the bending phase. SuperWindy weather-resistant painted aluminum also retains perfect flatness of the aluminum support.
The pre-treatment process consists of degreasing and a chromium-free treatment on both sides of the material. The super-polyurethane paint can be applied in a wide range of colors and gloss levels. Our weather-resistant painted aluminum can stand up to the most aggressive environments without fading as they are resistant to ultraviolet rays, weathering and corrosion.
A protective primer is also added on the reverse side, making SuperWindy weather-resistant painted aluminum suitable for gluing and adhesion with the most common foams.
Aluminum can be infinitely recycled without a loss in quality and saves 95 percent of the energy that is necessary to manufacture primary aluminum.
Aluminum is relied on to meet sustainability standards and goals in the construction process, as well as to work in a more environmentally friendly manner.
All lubricants and paints are processed in a closed material cycle. For pre-painted aluminum products, Novelis uses unleaded paints exclusively. The aluminum is ground water neutral and free from the hazards of heavy-metal erosion.
