Pre-painted 2 mm Aluminum
Novelis ff2 pre-painted aluminum with a 2 mm thickness is developed specially for building facade cladding in ventilated and non-ventilated construction.

Coil-coated with high-quality PVdF paint, this pre-painted aluminum has a flawless, brilliant surface with a variety of plain, metallic and special colors available.

Protective Paints

To ensure color consistency and surface durability, our pre-painted 2 mm aluminum is coated in a continuous coil-coating process. Solid and metallic paints are applied in two or four coats, then permanently stove enameled.

For high-grade outdoor architectural applications, Novelis uses only PVdF (polyvinylidene fluoride) paints of the highest quality (80/20). With mainly inorganic pigments, these PVdF paints are ideal for outdoor applications. This helps protect the pre-painted aluminum to make the facade material weather resistant, UV resistant and seawater resistant.

With such protection, any type of environmental effects on the material is minimal. Extreme climate zones also do not pose a threat to the pre-painted aluminum surface.

Colors

A wide range of colors with metallic, high-gloss and matte finishes are available. Copper tones, terracotta and stainless steel effects can also be applied. Custom colors are available on request.

PVdF coatings make surfaces easy to clean, so maintenance time is reduced. In contrast to polyester-coated aluminum cladding, ff2 repels dirt, and cleaning can be done with environmentally friendly warm water and neutral detergents.

Installation

Whether panels, flat sheets or cassettes are required, with ultra-flat or stress-free sheeting, ff2 works with both ventilated and non-ventilated cladding structures. The easy forming properties also make our material ideal for concave or convex shapes, corners, closures, column casing and other architectural details.

Excellent workability allows ff2 pre-painted 2 mm aluminum to be screwed, drilled, stamped, riveted, trimmed and bent without damage to the material or painted surface.

The lacquer on the reverse side of ff2 facade material is specifically designed for bonding. This means sheets can be adhesive-bonded to the substructure without visible attachments. Reinforcements can be bonded easily into cassettes.

Safety

Novelis pre-painted 2 mm aluminum has been certified in accordance with the latest DIN EN 13501 non-combustibility standards.

Under international building regulations, only non-combustible materials may be used in buildings exceeding a height of approximately 20 meters. This requirement applies no matter the height for public facilities such as nurseries, schools, airports, hotels and hospitals.

With Novelis ff2 receiving the highest A1 rating in combustibility tests, this means our pre-painted 2 mm aluminum can be used on any building of any height without restriction.

Sustainability

The coil coating process for Novelis pre-painted aluminum is environmentally friendly with all paints and lubricants processed in a closed material cycle. Non-hazardous pigments are used. This pre-painted aluminum is also free from heavy-metal erosion, is ground water neutral and can be recycled as a raw material without any loss in quality.
